Ingredients

boiling water

brown sugar

flour

baking soda

Topping
6
tablespoons
butter
softened
½
cup
granulated sugar
⅛
cup
plus 2 tablespoons milk

teaspoon
vanilla
1
cup
coconut
1
cup
chopped walnuts
Frozen whipped topping,thawed, or whipped cream
Instructions
Cake
Preheat oven to 350°F. For cake, combine oats, butter, and boiling water; let stand for 20 minutes.
Add white sugar, brown sugar, eggs, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt; mix. Pour into a greased 13×9-inch baking pan.
Bake 25 to 30 minutes.
Topping
Mix topping ingredients and spread over baked cake.
Put cake under broiler until browned and bubbly. Serve with whipped topping.
